But what does it really mean to be a
summer camp counselor?
When you work with Ferncliff’s summer programs, you could be hiking, swimming, canoeing, playing games, meeting new people, or enjoying God’s beautiful creation at any given moment! And all while a part of a close-knit team living together in Christian community. Work begins with staff training in mid-late May and finishes the beginning of August. All positions are paid and include the option of on-site housing for the summer.
The Ferncliff Summer Staff will fill many different roles that will all give them the incredible opportunity to guide children and youth to a life of caring for Creation, others, and themselves. We are looking for folks who are willing to be camp counselors by leading a bible study, teaching archery, who are willing to be a part of a team, work in the kitchen, lead games, and a million other jobs! A huge part of the all-star team we’re putting together are those willing to take photos, lifeguard, lend a hand to maintenance projects, help to run our social media accounts, show guests how to paddle board on Belden Pond, and almost anything else you can think of! Folks who can switch between these roles and are willing to be a part of a team are a huge part of the life-changing ministry that happens here at Ferncliff. If you have previous camp experience, being on the Coordinating Team might be right up your alley! Our Day Camp and Overnight Coordinators lead our major camp programs, overseeing counselors and program activities. As the Activities Coordinator or Support Coordinator, you get the chance to be a big part of the behind-the-scenes work that makes camp magical.
