Incoming Disaster Materials Smash Record

During 2010, Ferncliff volunteers received and processed 132,000 pounds of disaster kits! By comparison, in2009 the DAC processed 37,000 pounds of incoming disaster kits and supplies. The previous record had set in 2008 with 84,000 pounds largely due to an outpouring of response to Texas floods.

But the response to the Haiti earthquake in 2010 was amazing. About 100,000 kits were sent to the CWS national warehouse in Maryland from Ferncliff and our generous donors raised the funds for the shipping. Thank you to all the Ferncliff volunteers who make the DAC a hub of volunteer activity!
