Churches Rally Volunteers to Help Ferncliff with Kits for Haiti
UPS, Fed Ex, and the post office are bringing many boxes of Church World Service Gift-of-the-Heart Hygiene kits to Ferncliff every day. As many as 50 have arrived in one day and the numbers are expected to grow over the next 2-3 weeks as churches across the country find making kits a tangible and practical way to express God's love and theirs to the people of Haiti. Both PDA and CWS have encouraged the Hygiene Kit as the kit most in demand. CWS has emptied all the Hygiene kits out of their national warehouse and have asked Ferncliff's Disaster Assistance Center (their only other warehouse) to help restock. 10,000 kits will go out this week as Ferncliff volunteers work to prepare more. This week, volunteer groups from First Pres. Bentonville, Hot Springs Village (Woodlands and Kirk in the Pines), Second Presbyterian, and First Pres. Batesville will come and help. See more about the kits under our "Outreach" tab.
