Pinnacle Mountain is a day-use park dedicated to environmental education, recreation, and preservation. The park was set aside in 1977 as Arkansas's first state park adjoining a major metropolitan area. Operating as a day-use only park, Pinnacle Mountain is dedicated to preservation, recreation, and environmental education. Park interpreters and volunteers help visitors and students understand man's relationship to the environment in the 2,000-acre park that offers a rich diversity of natural habitat.

On the morning of September 23, 1957 nine African-American teenagers stood up to an angry crowd protesting integration in front of Little Rock's Central High as they entered the school for the first time. This event, broadcast around the world, made Little Rock the site of the first important test of the U.S. Supreme Court’s historicBrown v. Board of Education of Topeka decision.

The archival and museum holdings at the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum are the largest within the Presidential Library system. Included in these collections are approximately 76.8 million pages of paper documents, 1.85 million photographs and over 84,600 museum artifacts. The Museum features exhibits, special events, and educational programs and includes replicas of the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room. Permanent exhibits utilize documents, photographs, videos and interactive stations. A timeline and alcoves highlight domestic and foreign policy, as well as life in the White House.

Hot Springs National Park is the oldest park in the National Park System. It was established as Hot Springs Reservation in 1832 (the concept of a National Park did not yet exist at the time). It was the first time that a piece of land had been set aside by the federal government to preserve its use by the people. Nicknamed “America’s Spa” the park includes the refurbished Fordyce Bathhouse and historic bathhouse row.
