Green Vehicle Arrives at Ferncliff!
Ferncliff's 14-passenger, electric vehicle arrived this week. It has solar panels that, on sunny days, will extend the time it can go without a charge. The vehicle is street legal for roads where the speed limit is 35mph or less, but plans are to just use it on camp property. If you walked to all three portions of Ferncliff's campus, you'd have walked about a mile. Nothing wrong with hiking, but to tour or move people more quickly, the vehicle will be a welcome addition. During the summer it will be used to give campers a "green hayride" to the Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) where every camper gets to help make kits for families recovering from disasters.
